The Alternative Investment Management Association (Aima) has published a Responsible Investment Primer document that outlines developments in responsible investing, and the paths that alternative investment managers may wish to take in respect of SRI, ESG or impact investing.

Besides outlining the drivers behind RI, Aima also outlines the regulatory principles underpinning moves in this area. A FAQs section looks to questions such as: Is responsible investment compatible with the concept of a hedge fund? Is responsible investment compatible with the practice of short selling? Is responsible investment compatible with the use of offshore fund structures? In each of these cases Aima says the answer is 'yes' while explaining why this is so.
