Cyprus flags €200 daily fines amid 30 September beneficial ownership register deadline

Cyprus has set the beneficial ownership reporting deadline for its new register at 30 September for existing companies. The new register of beneficial owners of companies and other legal entities will be online by the end of October which replaces the interim system introduced in March 2021. After the new system comes online, entities will be allowed one month to confirm and complete this data; submit requests for exemption from disclosure of information to the general public and submit their grounds for exercising customer due-diligence.
