Lombard Odier Investment Managers (LOIM) has appointed Rebeca Coriat as head of Stewardship.
Coriat joins from Investec Asset Management. Based in London, she will reports to Christopher Kaminker, head of Sustainable Investment Research, Strategy & Stewardship.
In her new role, Coriat will be responsible for all stewardship activities at LOIM. Her focus is on sustainability, corporate governance and ESG analysis. She has more than ten years of experience advising institutional investors on corporate governance and ESG issues, and has worked for them in a leading role in the area of corporate engagement. Her focus was on addressing these issues to companies and thereby achieving sustainable value development for investors.
In her previous position, she advised Investec Asset Management as an ESG analyst on portfolio managers with regard to proxy voting and active shareholding. Previously, she was a senior associate at ISS, a leading proxy advisory firm, and stewardship services analyst at Governance for Owners. Coriat started her professional career at Manifest and PIRC, two British consulting firms for proxy voting.
Christopher Kaminker said: "Coriat will play an important role in developing our future stewardship strategy. She will ensure that the necessary changes in business models and practices are implemented by companies so that they can meet the sustainability challenges of the coming decades. In addition, she will advise our portfolio managers on proxy voting to ensure that our commitment is followed by the consistent implementation of our investors' shareholder rights."
