GAM has expanded its team in Italy with the appointment of Alessandro Arrighi as head of retail distributors and of Massimo Corneo as senior sales.

Arrighi will be responsible for further developing the firm's footprint in the retail channel, with a particular focus on the financial advisory and private banking networks.

With over 10 years' experience in the asset management industry, Arrighi joins GAM from LFDE where he was Italy country head. Prior to that, he was country head for Ethenea and deputy country head for Carmignac.

Corneo, who also entersGAM from LFDE, had previously held senior sales roles at companies including Invesco, DWS and BlackRock.

Riccardo Cervellin, GAM's Italy country head, said:"The strengthening of our team confirms the importance that the Italian market has for us and shows the group's commitment to investing in the regional market.

"We therefore welcome Alessandro Arrighi, whose high professionalism can only contribute to the achievement of our goals, and Massimo Corneo, whose entry into the team confirms GAM's ability to attract talent."
