BBVA Asset Management has announced the appointment of Maitane Goicoextea as head of its newly-created investment solutions unit.
As head of the new department, Goicoextea will be responsible for developing investment solutions adjusted and tailored to customer needs. He was most recently in charge of the Goal Based Solutions team which, after merging with the Portfolio Construction area, has given as a result the new unit.
The Spanish banking group has also appointed Alberto Gómez-Reino as head of sustainable investment and institutional asset allocation.
His appointment suggests the company's growing interest in ESG-related issues. It signed up to the UN PRI principles in 2008 and currently manages €8bn in line with these sustainability principles.
Gómez-Reino and Goicoextea will be reporting to Jaime Martínez, global head of asset allocation.
