Just some three weeks from the start of the Milan Forum 2020 celebrating its 10th edition on the 5 of March at the Four Seasons Hotel, InvestmentEurope is pleased to announce the name of the participants joining the panel discussion.
The panel, moderated by Morningstar Italy's managing research editor Sara Silano, will have the participation of head of advisory HNWI at Banca Finnat Mariano Gambaro; head of multimanager at Anima SGR Stefania Taschini; and portfolio manager and a member of the Multi Asset Class Solutions (MACS) investment team at GAM Italy Antonio Anniballe. The trio of investment professionals will collectively address some of the challenges and opportunities they find in the alternative space.
In this line, a wide range of topics related to alternative investments will be addressed during the session, from an overview on the asset class to the suitability of liquid and illiquid alternatives depending on the investors' goals and context.
Investors turned to the alternative space looking for different (and uncorrelated) sources of return following several years of bull markets in both the fixed income and the equity arena.
On the liquid space, panellists will share their views on Newcits vehicles and on the strategies they favour withing the hedge fund universe. They will also look at real assets - namely real estate, private debt, and private equity - which traditionally have been kept apart from other areas due to liquidity concerns.
Mariano Gambaro is head of advisory HNWI of Baca Finnat, where he also plays an active role as a portfolio and risk manager. Previously, he was the team leader of Pioneer IM Quant Equity desk in Dublin. Prior to that, he had worked first in risk management and later as portfolio manager at Capitalia AM. From wealth management to the High Net Worth (HNW/PWM) business, his experience in asset management allows him to manage the advisory's business of Banca Finnat with a proprietary platform that can provide innovative investment solutions to help clients achieve real financial goals.
Stefania Taschini is head of Multimanager at Anima SGR. She started her career in the asset management industry in 2002 at MPS Asset Management, as a fund of funds analyst and then as a portfolio manager. In 2009 she joined Prima SGR and Anima SGR subsequently, where she became a senior portfolio manager becoming directly involved in third party fund selection activity.
Anniballe, who is a CFA charterholder, joined GAM in October 2005 as an assistant portfolio manager, having previously completed an internship with GAM Italy.
In addition to the panel session and the usual boardroom sessions, the event will also feature a talk on artificial intelligence (AI) and quantitative finance. Host speaker Tommaso Migliore, CEO and co-founder of the Italian subadvisor MDOTM, will be addressing the use of AI in the investment process.
Boardroom sessions will be provided to around 35 Italy-based fund selector delegates by up to five sponsoring groups, including Vontobel Asset Management and Principal Global Investors' Finisterre Capital.
The Milan Forum 2020 is also joined by the CFA Society Italy as its educational partner.
