Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has signed an agreement with Allfunds for the distribution of its sicav investment funds in Italy.
Two of the investment strategies set to be distributed via the pan-European platform are the L&G Emerging Markets Short Duration Bond Fund and the L&G Euro High Alpha Corporate Bond Fund, a fixed income and an absolute return strategy respectively.
The first aims to provide investors with a combination of growth and income by investing in emerging market government and corporate bonds. Managed by LGIM's head of emerging market fixed income Uday Patnaik, the fund seeks to capture attractive themes and opportunities as they emerge in a rapidly evolving asset class.
On the other hand, the L&G Euro High Alpha Corporate Bond Fund seeks to provide investors with attractive returns by investing predominantly in Euro denominated fixed and floating rate securities. Managed by Marc Rovers, head of the Euro Credit area, the Fund may also invest in asset-backed securities such as mortgage-backed securities and consumer loans.
Both funds are managed within LGIM's global fixed income team, managing collectively over € 193bn in assets.
Giancarlo Sandrin, LGIM's Italy country head, told to the Italian financial website Bluerating: "The distribution agreement with Allfunds is a very important step in our growth in Italy because it allows us to expand the offer for the wholesale market, giving access to a wider audience of investors to other component of our investment expertise.
"The funds in the range meet the strong interest we have seen from fund selectors towards fixed income strategies capable of generating attractive returns. For this reason we are convinced that our active solutions can become an important component of the portfolios of Italian investors."
