Matthias Schellenberg has decided to leave Merck Finck Privatbankiers AG by the end of the year at his own request.
He has informed the chairman of the Supervisory Board that he will not be available for another term as chairman of the Board of Management of the private bank. He will leave the company at the end of his current contract on 31 December 2020.
The chairman of the Supervisory Board of Merck Finck Privatbankiers AG, Georg Freiherr von Boeselager, took note of this decision with great regret.
The Supervisory Board will appoint a successor in due course. It is planned to announce the successor by the end of June at the latest. Schellenberg will continue to be available with full commitment to ensures a smooth transition.
Schellenberg has been chairman of the Executive Board of Merck Finck Privatbankiers AG since January 2017. He is responsible for the investment strategy, asset management, support for private customers, trading, the project management office, marketing & communication and human resources. Schellenberg is a member of the Presidium of the Bavarian Economic Council and a member of the Board of Trustees of the WHU Foundation (University of Management for Science).
