Italian asset manager Pramerica Sgr has expanded its reach into alternative investments with the launch of a fund investing primarily in infrastructures.
Pramerica Iter is a closed-end fund aimed at institutional investors that will count with the advice of Iter Capital Partners in the selection of investment opportunities. This company was founded by Vito Gamberale and Mauro Maia.
It has been reported that the possibility of launching a parallel infrastructure fund, in the ELTIF model so aimed at retail clients, is being evaluated by the Bank of Italy.
The new Fund will operate in Italy and Southern Europe, focusing on both traditional ((energy, transport, environmental and IT) and new type of infrastructures aimed at responding to evolving social needs. This second group would include the healthcare sector, with a focus on the elderly generation, investing in networks specialised in the assistance, care and well-being of pensioners.
Pramerica considers that the infrastructure sector is characterised by strong stability, thanks to the predictability and consistency of cash flows over time.
With regards to the fund's governance, an Investment Committee dedicated to the new strategy will be established. It will be composed by an advisory body of Pramerica in order to support strategic investment choices and protect all stakeholders. The committee will be chaired by Salvatore Rossi.
