First Republic adds wealth management team in Florida

First Republic Bank has hired a six-member team of wealth managers from J.P. Morgan Securities to provide investment management, retirement planning, investment consulting and other wealth management services in South Florida.

The bank, which was briefly owned by Merrill Lynch, employs 184 wealth advisers catering to high net worth investors to supplement its core trust and private banking operations.

Salvatore A. Tiano, John Emery Smyth, Louis J. Ventura, and Daniel Tumba were each named managing director and wealth manager. Jason O'Brien and Gregory P. Saville were named vice president and wealth manager.

Tiano has more than 30 years of wealth management experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was a managing director and portfolio panager at J.P. Morgan Securities. 

Smyth has more than 25 years of wealth management experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was an executive director and portfolio manager at J.P. Morgan Securities. 

Ventura has more than 45 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was a managing director at J.P. Morgan Securities. 

Tumba has more than 12 years of wealth management experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was an executive director and Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Securities, and he began his career at JP Morgan Chase & Co. 

O'Brien has more than 15 years of wealth management experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was a vice president at J.P. Morgan Securities. 

Saville has more than seven years of financial services experience. Prior to joining First Republic, he was an investment associate at J.P. Morgan Securities.

The team will be based in Jupiter, Florida.
