UK asset management firm M&G has promoted deputy general director Alicia García to managing director in Iberia (Spain, Portugal and Andorra), Funds People has revealed.
García's promotion follows the appointment of Ignacio Rodríguez Añino, the current general director for the firm in Iberia, as responsible for the firm's funds distribution across Latin America.
García joined M&G in 2006 as an associate director, and was later appointed, in 2017, deputy general director and sales head. She had previously worked at JPMorgan Asset Management.
On the other hand, Rodríguez Añino will be responsible for leading the business expansion - both retail and institutional - of the UK manager in Latin America being based in Miami.
Añino joined M&G in 2005, appointed to lead the firm's business in Iberia. In 2012, he also took responsibility for the firm's business in LatAm. He had previously worked at companies including DWS, JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management, BCH Bolsa, FG Valores, Société Marseillaise de Crédit and Banco Zaragozano.
M&G manages around €310bn in assets globally, of which more than €6bn belong to Iberian clients.
