Premier Miton has named Duncan Goodwin as manager of its £103m AUM Alpha Growth fund amid the departure of incumbent manager Jake Robbins, who is set to leave the firm to "pursue other opportunities".
Goodwin, who will also become co-manager of the Premier Global Optimum Income fund, joins from Barings where his roles included head of global resources team, lead manager of the Barings Global Resources fund and co-manager of the Barings Global Agriculture fund.
GAM Investments has hired Giovanni D'Alesio as head of research for alternative investment solutions.
D'Alesio will lead GAM's external fund manager research team, and manage portfolios that combine external managers and other investment exposures, such as betas, factors and alternative risk premia. D'Alesio joins from Capital Generation Partners, where he was partner and head of investment origination. Here, he led a team focused on sourcing and monitoring active investment opportunities across equity, fixed income, hedge funds and real assets.
Aberdeen Standard Investments
Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) has promoted Dominic Byrne to head of global equities, succeeding Stephen Docherty who is stepping down due to personal reasons.
Byrne, who has been deputy head of global equities since 2018, is also co-manager of the SLI Global Equity Impact SICAV. He joined the UK Equity team at Standard Life in 2000, before joining the Global Equity team in 2008, and has since managed a range of global equity strategies.
Schroders has hired Julien Houdain to run its recently launched Schroder ISF Global Credit Income Short Duration fund, it has announced.
Houdain joins Schroders as deputy head of credit for Europe, reporting to head of credit for Europe Patrick Vogel, from Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM). As well as managing the new fund, Houdain will also work alongside Vogel and the credit team on Schroders' credit strategy.
WisdomTree has appointed a new head of UK and Nordic sales and has made two hires to its UK sales team. Ravinder Azad joined WisdomTree as head of UK and Nordic sales on Monday, having spent the past 12 years as UK ETF business development director at Invesco ETFs.
WisdomTree also announced the appointments of Sam Coppell and Cameron Trundle in sales support roles, effective 13 January, as it strengthens its UK sales team. Coppell joins from BlackRock where he was an asset reconciliation analyst and Trundle was previously a sales manager at Last Word Media.
Lane Clark and Peacock (LCP) has announced that Sir Steve Webb will join as a partner, leaving Royal London where he is currently director of policy.
The former pensions minister joins the consultancy to focus on its client service and the "ever-evolving" regulatory environment. Joining on 10 February, he will also spearhead LCP's campaigns to help keep the wider industry apace with change and member needs.
Lombard Odier Investment Managers has strengthened its thematic equities offering with three new hires from Robeco, who are set to launch their first new strategy in Q1 2020.
The first new strategy will be in global fintech, with further strategies seeking to invest in companies with the "ability to provide solutions and tools [ to address] some of the most acute problems facing our world", the firm said.
Harneys, the global offshore law firm, has announced that partner and head of the Transactional team, Lishi Fong, has been appointed managing partner in Singapore.
A specialist in international banking, Fong has over a decade of experience practising in Singapore and joined Harneys in March 2019. In her new role, she will continue to drive the development of the firm's market-leading offering in the region.

BCS Global Markets has appointed Maxim Safonov as senior managing director, head of Capital Markets and Investment Banking.
Safonov will run markets and investment banking operations across BCS Global Markets geographies: Moscow, London, Cyprus, and New York. His primary objective will be to execute the firm's Markets and Investment Banking strategy, and to spearhead a major expansion across the capital markets and investment banking sectors - in turn, increasing the company's share in existing markets and adding new customer segments. He will work both in London and Moscow and report directly to BCS Global Markets CEO Roman Lokhov.
Amundi has named Jeanne Duvoux as CEO of Amundi Luxembourg.
Duvoux joins Amundi from Société Générale in Luxembourg where she was head of the private banking business unit and a member of its Executive Committee since 2015. She is a graduate in Economics and Business from Neoma business school and is a Certified Public Accountant.
IQ-EQ, a global investor services group, has appointed John Legrand as managing director of UK and Ireland and member of its executive leadership team.
Prior to joining IQ-EQ, Legrand was managing director for Asia Pacific with BlackRock's alternative investment software provider, eFront. Before that, he spent 10 years with BNY Mellon in Singapore and London as managing director of EMEA & APAC and head of Business Development for its Asia Pacific's Asset Servicing division.
