Santander Asset Management has set up a new illiquid alternatives investment area and appointed Borja Díaz-Llanos to lead it.
The new area will be made up of a team of 13 employees scattered across Europe and Latin America.
In his new role, Díaz-Llanos will be reporting to José Mazoy, global investments director of Santander Asset Management.
The new appointment joins Santander Asset Management from Deutsche Bank Spain, where he worked for 15 years latter co-responsible for the Markets and Financing area at the firm's investment banking division. He started his career working as an auditor at Deloitte Spain.
