BMO Global Asset Management has renamed the BMO European Equity fund to provide better guidance on the fund's sustainability. The fund is now named BMO Sustainable Opportunities European Equity fund.
This is part of BMO GAM's continuous development of innovative, sustainable strategies for its investors.
So far, the fund has taken into account several aspects of sustainability, which are confirmed by external measurement data. The investment policy of the fund will now be slightly adjusted to reflect its renewed sustainable focus. It only invests in companies that make a positive contribution to society and the environment, and uses its influence to promote best practice management of environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues within companies through engagement and coordination.
The fund is designed to invest actively in European companies that can benefit from or contribute significantly to sustainable development trends. The UN Sustainable Development Goals provide the framework to assess the positive contribution of the portfolio to society.
As a result of the changes, the fund's benchmark is now MSCI Europe NR instead of the FTSE AW Developed Europe NR.
