HSBC Global Asset Management has appointed Shamil Pankhania as credit portfolio manager within the Global Bonds team.
Pankhania, based in London, will be leading and managing the Buy and Maintain Credit Investment business as well as supporting the broader portfolio management of Global and UK fixed income funds. He will report into the head of Global Bonds, Ernst Osiander.
Commenting on the appointment Osiander said: "Bringing Pankhania into the team is part of an ongoing effort to boost our fixed income capabilities. He will help us to ensure our long-term client and growth commitments as we continue to develop our expertise within our Global Fixed Income platform."
Having worked in the industry since 2006, Pankhania joins from BlackRock where he was a global credit portfolio manager on the Fundamental Fixed Income team trading corporate bonds and managing a wide variety of portfolios focusing on total return funds. He started his career at Pimco within the European Credit Trading & Portfolio Management team where he gained extensive investment experience in multiple fixed income asset classes.
