Angelo Meda, head of equities and ESG research at Banor SIM, has been confirmed as the third speaker for the panel discussion on sustainable investment at the Thematic Forum Milan 2019 on 22 of November at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan.
Meda joined Banor SIM in 2009 following the merger of the Italian asset manager with Ribofin, a company where he had previously worked as a financial analyst up to 2008.
With 15 years' financial experience, Meda is a member of the CFA Institute since 2005 and CFA Charterholder since 2006. He also participates in the CFA grading process since 2010.
Speaking at the panel will also be Linda Benedetta Andreoletti, portfolio manager at the Quantitative Team of Pramerica SGR; Luca Anzola, head of fund research and due diligence at Fideuram's multimanager division; and Manuela Cedarmas, senior portfolio manager & fund selector, as well as head of Emerging Strategies and Markets at Tages Capital, as the panel's moderator.
The session aims at creating a space for discussion on the different shades of the ESG trend and its role on investment.
While the use of environmental, social and governance (ESG) metrics was a niche activity a decade ago, issues ranging from climate change to gender pay gap have accelerated the integration of these parameters in investment portfolios.
ESG factors have become important considerations in the investment policies of all responsible asset owners. Once a niche investment interest, research shows that over 60% of institutional investors have incorporated ESG into their investment approach and sustainable principles underpin more than a quarter of global assets under management.
The panel will address various topics including the different ways to integrate ESG factors in investment portfolios; how to overcome the challenges of implementing sustainable criteria in the fixed income space; how to measure the real impact of ESG investing across alternative investments; what shifts there have been, if any, in allocations towards ESG funds.
The event is supported by the CFA Society Italy as its educational partner.
