Schroders has completed its purchase of a majority stake in impact investor BlueOrchard Finance for an undisclosed fee in efforts to expand the firm's sustainability offering, as well as its emerging markets private debt and private equity capabilities.
Founded in 2001, Switzerland-headquartered BlueOrchard, which has $3.5bn in AUM, specialises in microfinance and impact investing across asset classes, including credit, private equity and sustainable infrastructure.
The Carlyle Group has signed a definitive agreement to buy a majority stake in insurance agency The Hilb Group from Abry Partners.
Hilb, established in 2009, is a middle market insurance agency operating as a portfolio company of Abry Partners since 2015. The company operates 91 branches with employee headcount of over 900.
RiverStone, tnsurance run-off manager, has bought GMPCI Insurance Company (GMPCI) and Seaside Indemnity Alliance Company, both Cayman-based captives.
Seaside was set up in 2013. The focus of the business is to assume hospital and physician professional liabilities in Connecticut. GMPCI specialises in serving anaesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anaesthetists as well as registered nurses in Massachusetts. The business was established in 2005.
California-based Allworth Financial has agreed to acquire RAA, a Texas-based RIA focusing on the airline sector, for an undisclosed sum.
RAA offers 401(k) investment management, retirement and estate planning, and tax consulting services, among others, to more than 3,200 families. It has branches in Dallas, Atlanta, and Seattle, which have a workforce of around 60.
