Luca Anzola, head of fund research & alternative investments at Fideuram Investimenti SGR, is joining the Thematic Forum Milan 2019's ESG panel discussion, set to take place on the 22 of November at the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan.
While the use of environmental, social and governance (ESG) metrics was a niche activity a decade ago, issues ranging from climate change to gender pay gap have accelerated the integration of these parameters in investment portfolios.
ESG factors have become important considerations in the investment policies of all responsible asset owners. Once a niche investment interest, research shows that over 60% of institutional investors have incorporated ESG into their investment approach and sustainable principles underpin more than a quarter of global assets under management.
Luca Anzola, who works in the multimanager division of Fideuram Investimenti as head of fund research and due diligence, will take part of a panel designed to create a space for discussion on the different shades of this trend and its role on investment, as well as on how it can be better applied across different asset classes.
Before joining Fideuram, Anzola was head of fund research and due diligence for Aletti Gestielle. He has 15 years' experience in fund selection and analysis both of traditional and alternative funds.
The panel, moderated by Manuela Cedarmas, -senior portfolio manager, fund selector, and head of Emerging Strategies and Markets at the Italian fund house Tages Capital- will address various topics including the different ways to integrate ESG factors in investment portfolios; how to overcome the challenges of implementing sustainable criteria in the fixed income space; how to measure the real impact of ESG investing across alternative investments; what shifts there have been, if any, in allocations towards ESG funds.
