Candriam has appointed Benjamin Rumary as senior Relationship Manager in its London office in a move aimed at further strengthening its position in the UK Wholesale market.
Rumary will be responsible for the distribution of Candriam funds to discretionary clients in London, alongside Ryan Welch, who joined Candriam earlier this year.
The manager has a very focused approach to business growth in the UK, with total assets managed on behalf of UK clients now surpassing €1bn at the end of June 2019.
Rumary joins Candriam from Smith & Williamson, where he was an associate director in sales responsible for London discretionary clients. He also held roles in sales and marketing at LV Asset Management and AXA Investment Managers, and began his career in the financial services industry with Old Mutual Asset Managers in 2006.
Benjamin has 15 years' experience in asset management and holds the IAQ and the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
