Ashburton confirms CIO for new role launching early 2020

Asbhurton Investments has appointed Patrice Rassou as chief investment officer, in a new role that comes into effect from April 2020.

This will see Rassou coordinate investment management acivities of FirstRand group - of which Ashburton Investments is a part - following a review of the asset management business and steps necessary to achieve scaleability.

Rassou joins from Sanlam Investment Managers, where he was head of equities. Before Sanlam, he worked at Thesele Group, Old Mutual Asset Management and PwC.

The appointment comes on the heels of the recently announced CEO of Ashburton Investments, Sizwe Nxedlana (https://www.investmenteurope.net/news/4005704/ashburton-appoints-ceo )

Mary Vilakazi, FirstRand COO, said: "To attract an investment professional of Patrice's calibre is a coup for us. It demonstrates how serious we are about building a competitive and innovative asset management business."
