Int'l health insurer Allianz Care opens a branch in Canada

Allianz Care has announced the opening of a new office branch in Canada.

The office is based in Toronto and is the first operational branch for the company in the region. Allianz Care, the international health brand of Allianz Partners, specialises in providing international health and life insurance and associated health and protection services.

The new office opening comes at a time of key growth for Allianz Care in the Americas region. It will cater to four provinces in Canada: Ontario, Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia, with a view to expanding in the future. The branch will provide service and support to large companies, NGOs and IGOs. Giving them access to a range of cover including international health, life, disability and accident insurance along with support services for their staff such as employee assistance programmes, counselling and travel security services.

Speaking from the official launch, Ida Luka-Lognoné, the company's CEO said, "Opening a local branch in Toronto is a big step for us in delivering the best solutions for our customers in this important region. Our strong understanding of local markets is crucial to providing a client-focused service and being on the ground in Toronto will help us to enhance that understanding. It is an exciting time for Allianz Care, and we look forward to growing our business in Canada over the coming years."

Chris Hebb, who has been appointed Chief Agent for the office, will lead the formation and growth of international health business in the region for Allianz Care. Hebb has more than 15 years' experience in the insurance industry and joined Allianz Partners in 2018. He holds an MBA from Escola Superior d'Administració i Direcció d'Empreses (ESADE) Business School and has strong experience in managing global insurance clients.

Commenting on the announcement, Hebb said, "A local presence in this region means we can deliver even better, on-the-ground support for our customers. It will also allow us to build deeper relationships with our brokers, and ultimately to develop a stronger understanding of the local environment and customer needs. I'm excited about the opportunities I can see to grow the business here"
