BCS Global Markets (BCS GM) has announced the appointment of Alexey Bachurin as the new Head of equity trading. Bachurin will be based in London, reporting to co-heads of Global Equities Luis Saenz and Oleg Achkasov.
With over 20 years' experience in the financial sector, he joins BGS GM having held senior management positions within equity trading at the likes of IFC Metropol, Metallinvestbank and Renaissance Capital. During his career, Bachurin has progressed from a trader to managing director and has overseen multiple trading departments, having traded Russian equities in both Moscow and London.
Morgan Stanley Investment Management's (MSIM) International Equity Team has appointed Candida de Silva as a senior portfolio specialist and Helena Miles a generalist Research Analyst.
De Silva joins MSIM from BlackRock where she spent 11 years, most recently as head of the UK Charities & Endowments business. Miles was previously at Capital Group where she covered Luxury Goods & Retail. Prior to that, she covered European Business Services at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
IQ-EQ has hired Cecilia Cheung for the role of managing director, Country Head Hong Kong. She will also serve on the global investor services Asia executive leadership team.
She brings with her a deep understanding of the alternative assets industry with substantial experience of fund structuring, valuations, internal controls, regulatory, and risk and compliance for private equity, real estate, debt and hedge funds.
Mediolanum International Funds
Mediolanum International Funds (MIFL), has named Damian Barry as the new head of Multi-Asset Multi-Management.
The role is newly created as Barry will be responsible for developing MIFL's Multi-Asset offering which has seen ever increasing client demand. He will also oversee MIFL's multi-asset multi-manager portfolios and will be working closely with the Manager Research team on managers' selection and the Market Strategy team.
Standard Chartered Private Bank
Standard Chartered Private Bank has appointed Cedric Lizin as regional Head, ASEAN & South Asia, Private Banking, subject to regulatory approval.
Lizin joins from UBS, where he was most recently head of Wealth Management and senior executive officer for Dubai. He brings a depth of knowledge, including that from his previous roles as a COO and building out platforms in Asia as well as an onshore Japan business. He will be based in Singapore.
Mayfair Capital Investment Management
Mayfair Capital Investment Management, the specialist UK real estate investment manager wholly owned by Swiss Life Asset Managers, has hired Tim Munn from CBRE Global Investors in the role of chief investment officer (CIO).
Prior to joining Mayfair Capital, Munn spent two decades at CBRE Global Investors, where he was a member of the UK Executive Committee and Head of Inbound Capital, responsible for working on separate account business development.
