GQG Partners has hired ex-Neptune Investment Management UK sales head Dan Lee as director for UK and Ireland business development.
Lee (pictured) will be responsible for developing and implementing the investment management boutique's presence in the wholesale markets in the UK and Ireland.
GQG runs two UCITS strategies, GQG Partners Emerging Markets Equity and GQG Partners Global Equity. Rajiv Jain, chairman and CEO of GQG, also runs a sleeve of the multi-manager Alliance Trust investment trust.
Lee said GQG was "one of the fastest-growing, truly active equity investment managers in the world and is expanding as others retrench".
"I believe I will be able to make an important contribution to broadening GQG Partners' UK and Ireland client-base, and I look forward to introducing the global and emerging market capabilities of this dynamic manager to the wholesale market," he added.
Mark Barker, managing director and head of international, said: "Dan brings his 20 years of investment experience and his extensive knowledge of the UK and Irish markets to the actively growing GQG Partners team.
"He will be at the forefront of our expansion into this important investment sector. I am happy to welcome him to the firm."
Before joining Neptune, he was head of UK wholesale at Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management.
