Columbia Threadneedle Investments has appointed Edwin Lawrence as its head of Middle East, based in its Dubai office.
Lawrence, who joined the firm on 8 September, will be responsible for leading the firm's client relationships across the Middle East region. He will report to Michael Housden, head of Institutional Distribution for EMEA at Columbia Threadneedle.
He comes from Franklin Templeton Investments where he spent the last 13 years and was institutional sales director, Middle East, in Dubai from 2009 until now.
As Columbia Threadneedle's head of Middle East, Lawrence will be responsible for developing sales and business relationships in the region while offering Columbia Threadneedle's comprehensive investment products and solutions covering global equities, fixed income and alternatives. Clients in the region include a range of government and corporate related entities as well as wholesale partners such as private banks and insurance platforms, regional banks, family offices and independent financial advisers.
