Lombard International has announced that Florent Albert has been promoted to global chief financial officer and that Rui Pinto has joined the business as chief financial officer for Europe.
Albert will report directly to John Hillman, group chief executive and Pinto to Axel Hörger, CEO Europe, as well as to Florent Albert. Rui Pinto's appointment comes as Lombard International seeks to further consolidate its leading position in the European insurance-based wealth solutions market. Pinto will join the European leadership team and oversee all day-to-day financial operations of the European business, leading the financial reporting to management, shareholders and regulators while ensuring efficient risk control.
Hirtle Callaghan has announced that Stephen Vaccaro has joined the firm as director of Private Equity. Vaccaro is an investment professional with more than 15 years of experience in endowment management and consulting, including the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and BCG.
Vaccaro wil work closely with Hirtle Callaghan's investment team to oversee private equity investment efforts on behalf of the firm's family, endowment, foundation, healthcare, and pension clients. He reports to Dan McCollum, deputy chief investment officer.
Walker Crips IM
Walker Crips Investment Management has hired Rachel Blythe from Progeny Asset Management as investment manager.
Blythe joins Walker Crips IM's York-based investment team from Progeny Asset Management, a financial advice and legal solutions firm she co-founded in 2016. Blythe's role at Walker Crips IM will be focused on helping clients grow and preserve their wealth for future generations, the firm said.
7IM has hired another former Barclays man in the form of chief client officer Chris Phillips. Phillips, who most recently worked at Lloyds Bank but was previously head of retail segments customer experience at Barclays, has joined 7IM's CEO Dean Proctor, who was hired from Barclays in March.
In his role as chief client officer, Phillips will be responsible for the firm's marketing, proposition, and digital and client experience.
BWCI has appointed a new Pension Administrator after he successfully completed the firm's in-house training programme. Mikus Eglitis's promotion at the Channel Islands independent actuarial consultancy and benefits administrator, comes as part of a series of 11 made during BWCI's 40th anniversary year.
Alison Hawkins, BWCI's senior HR Manager, congratulated everyone that received a promotion this year. "It's fantastic that we can demonstrate our commitment and dedication to developing our staff by awarding these promotions which signify another bumper year of development activity," she commented.
Aztec Group has made five senior promotions to director and associate director roles in its Jersey office. Emily Sturgess (Operational Resilience) has been promoted to director, while Phil Whittock has been promoted to director and head of Infrastructure and Information Security.
The firm also promoted Nadia Assaadi-Irtizaali and Fe Sapalo to associate directors within the Private Equity team, and Gary Millns to the same position within the Training and Development.
Avaloq has appointedImad Abou Haidar as head of Asia, starting in October. Based in Singapore, Haidar will report to Paco Hauser, global head of markets. At the same time, Avaloq COO Pascal Foehn, who has been interim head of Asia since December 2018, will continue to support the Asia team on the ground, the firm said.
Haidar joins from UK-headquartered software firm Finastra, where he has worked since 2016, most recently as its Asia-Pacific managing director, based in Singapore, where he led the transformation of the firm's regional strategy and portfolio growth initiatives.
Janus Henderson Investors has named Daniel J. Graña, CFA, portfolio manager, Global Emerging Market Equities. He is based in Boston and reports to George Maris, co-Head of Equities.
In addition, Janus Henderson has appointed Matthew Culley as assistant portfolio manager and research analyst, and Matthew Doody and Peter Li as research analysts covering Global Emerging Market equities. All three were previously at Putnam Investments. Culley and Doody are based in Boston and Li is based in Singapore. Together, they bring more than 30 years of combined investment experience to the firm.
