Spanish banking group BBVA has expanded the range of services for its clients who are also users of the digital payment solution Bizum.
The bank's customers, who are Bizum's users too, will now have the option of sending money to more than one user in the same operation, just by selecting contacts from their mobile phones.
They can also use Bizum to make online purchases since all that is needed is to indicate the mobile phone, validate the operation, and the money will be transferred from the bank account to the retailer.
One of the main reasons why this service is so demanded is its comfort, since it allows you to send and receive money at the moment through the 'app' by simply selecting the person's mobile phone, without entering a number of account.“
Bizum is an instant account-to-account payment solution via cellphone that is interconnected with a large number of banks, and does not require the recipient's account number to make a transfer, only a telephone number.
BBVA has been part of Bizum since the platform was set up in 2017. The digital solution has currently some €4.2 million users, of which more than 950,000 are BBVA clients, a figure that represents 22.7% of the platform's total users.
In addition to BBVA, 22 other entities have Bizum available for their clients, which represents over 96% of bank users in Spain. These entities are CaixaBank, Santander, Banco Sabadell, Bankia, Kutxabank, Caja Rural, Unicaja, Ibercaja, Cooperative Group Cajamar, Abanca, Bankinter, Liberbank, Laboral Kutxa, Evo Banco, Eurocaja Rural, Caja de Ingenieros, Mediolanum, Cajalmendralejo, Caja Sur , Deutsche Bank, Imagine Bank and Openbank.
