Benjamin Melman, Global chief investment officer at Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management will outline how best to approach fixed income markets at a time of changing economic conditions when he shares his views with fund selector delegates at the upcoming Madrid Roundtable 2019, hosted by InvestmentEurope on 8 November.
With uncertainties around the economic, monetary and political cycles, volatility has hit fixed income markets - as has been seen in recent weeks, this uncertainty is driving demand significantly higher for certain fixed income assets. In such an environment, there is an argument to consider active management and diversification.
Melman joined the Edmond de Rothschild Group in 2006 as head of Asset Allocation, Structured and Quantitative Management. In June 2019 he was appointed Global CIO Asset Management. He will supervise all Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management's investment teams and will join the Group's Asset Management Executive Committee. In 2009, he was appointed director of the Absolute Performance. In 2012, he was appointed head of the Asset Allocation and Sovereign Debt team and in 2018 he was appointed CIO Asset Allocation & Sovereign Debt. He started his career 1995 at CDC Gestion as economist before joining Crédit Lyonnais in 1998, as economist; he then became head of Economic Analysis (from 2000 until 2002) further to which he was appointed head of Investment Strategy (from 2002 until 2006).
He is a graduate from ENSAE and holds a Masters degree in Monetary Policy, Banking and Finance from the University of La Sorbonne Paris I Panthéon.
