DJE strengthens sales and customer service team

DJE Kapital AG has appointed Michael Mewes as head of Client Portfolio Management in the sales team since the end of May 2019.
Mewes manages institutional mandates such as banks, foundations, pension funds and pension funds. In addition, he supports sales with product and market-relevant questions. He also coordinates internal processes between portfolio management, sales and customers. Mewes reports directly to Thorsten Schrieber, member of the board responsible for sales, sales support, marketing and PR.
In addition, Julian Müller will be responsible for institutional sales at DJE from August as part of the strategic realignment of the sales team. He has been working for DJE since March 2016, previously as director institutional sales.
Müller should intensify the support of existing customers and further expand new business with institutional investors. Internationally, the focus will remain on Italy and Spain. He also reports directly to Thorsten Schrieber.
Mewes has around 30 years of experience in serving institutional clients as well as in the wholesale sector. Before joining DJE, he spent 22 years with J.P. Morgan Asset Management as managing director for the client portfolio management sector, especially in German-speaking countries, most recently also internationally. Prior to this, he gained extensive knowledge both at a subsidiary of Commerzbank and in the Deutsche Bank Group as a trainee and as a fund manager at DWS.
Müller has twelve years of experience in serving institutional investors. Before joining DJE in 2016, he advised institutional investors and issuers on matters relating to sustainable investments for oekom research Asset Manager. Before that, he spent around eight years with State Street Global Advisors in institutional sales for Germany and Austria.
