Merian Global Investors has made available to the Italian market its Europe large-cap equity fund which is now registered for sale in the country.
The Merian European Equity fund seeks to achieve asset growth through investment in a well-diversified portfolio of securities of European issuers. The Fund is managed by the firm's global equities team, which evaluates individual stocks based on a number of factors including the attractiveness of their valuation, quality, price trends, stable growth prospects, investor sentiment and company management when constructing the fund's portfolio.
Merian Global Investors' global equities team manages a number of regionally-focused funds investing in North American and Asian equities alongside this European fund, thus expanding its regional offering.
Merian Global Investors' global equities team, headed by Ian Heslop, has been managing the strategy since April this year.
When it handed the management of the fund, the company said that although there would be no change to the fund's investment objective, which seeks capital growth by investing in pan-European stocks, it would adopt the team's systematic process.
Ian Heslop, head of Global Equities at Merian Global Investors, said: "Thanks to our flexible approach, we constantly evaluate market sentiment and modify our portfolios accordingly, with the aim of selecting the best investment ideas for each economic context.
"Despite the caution towards European equities, we believe that there are still opportunities for outperformance in this space as long as we continue implementing our investment process."
