US asset manager Vanguard continues strengthening its business in Italy with the appointment of Diana Lazzati as a senior sales executive.
With almost 20 years' experience in the institutional and wholesale clients spaces, Lazzati will be responsible for contributing to the development of the firm's ETF business, indexed funds, and active strategies in Italy. She will report to Simone Rosti, Italy country head at Vanguard.
Before joining Vanguard, Lazzati worked as a director, pan European equity sales at the Italian branch of UBS Investment Banking. Prior to that, she worked for the portfolio management department of Italian companies including Generali Asset Management and Aletti Gestielle Sgr.
The appointment comes after the firm hired Marco Tabanella as senior sales executive and deputy country head for Italy in February this year.
Vanguard expanded into Italy with the launch of a range of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in January this year. It listed 19 Ucits ETFs covering equities and fixed income on Borsa Italiana six months after Simone Rosti was appointed as the firm's first country head.
The company had $5.4trn in assets under management as of the end of May 2019.
