Spanish alternative asset manager Dunas Capital has bolstered its equity team with the appointment of Rubén López.
As a member of Dunas Capital' equity team, López will report to the equity director of the firm's asset management division Carlos Gutiérrez and will be responsible for searching, spotting, analysing, and proposing investment opportunities in quoted companies, mostly. He joins a team that has developed its own investment methodology, the value cross asset & risk (VCAR) philosophy, which seeks capital preservation and has an absolute return focus.
López joins the alternative manager from Metagestión, where he co-managed the firm's global funds range, which includes the Metavalor Internacional fund. He previously worked at companies including Liberbank, X-Trade Brokers and BNP Paribas.
López joined Metagestión alongside Javier Martín, Alfonso Batalla, Julián Lirola, and Ignacio Salido as the firm's investment team replacing Javier Ruiz, Alejandro Martín and Miguel Rodríguez, who left Metagestión to launch Horos Asset Management.
Javier Martín departed Metagestión in January this year just around six months after joining the firm.
