Spanish online wealth management provider Self Bank continues expanding its team following acquisition by private equity firm Warburg Pincus and Spanish banking veteran Javier Marín Romano in February 2019.
The firm has now reinforced its private banking unit with the appointments of Olga Arribas and Álvaro de la Peña as wealth directors for the Madrid office.
Arribas joins Self Bank from Merchbanc where during four years she worked as an asset manager. She previously was wealth director and team head at Santander Private Banking, where she worked for 11 years. Previous companies include Banco Urquijo and Citibank, where she started her financial career in 1995.
De la Peña, with 9 years' experience, joined the industry in 2010 when he started working as a private banker at BANIF to later being promoted to senior private banker in Santander Private Banking, the rebranded wealth management area of the former BANIF bank.
The hires comes a week after Self Bank appointed Carlos Pérez Parada as chief of investments. He joined the firm from Andbank, where he was CEO of the bank's asset management business as well as managing director of Andbank Wealth Management and Advisory in Spain.
