Italian alternatives asset manager Hedge Invest SGR has appointed Galeazzo Pecori Giraldi as the chairman of its board of directors in a move aimed at boosting the firm's expansion plans.
Pecori Giraldi will be succeeding the board's current chairman Antonello Manuli. The move is a step towards the firm's plans to expand globally while maximising the expertise and skills currently present within the firm, said Hedge Invest in a note.
Bringing a broad experience in the industry, Pecori Giraldi joins the Italian manager from Société Générale, where he was global head of private investment banking from 2010 to 2018 based in Paris. Prior to that, he was vice chairman of Morgan Stanley Europe in London, and before, president and managing director at Morgan Stanley Italy and Switzerland for two decades.
Hedge Invest SGR was founded by Antonello Manuli in 2000 becoming the first alternative manager authorised to operate in Italy. The company has offices in Milan and London.
