US multi-manager provider John Hancock has announced Nordea IM will take over the sub-advisory management of absolute return from Aberdeen Standard Investments.
It means the US manager will shift its money from the Global Absolute Return Strategies fund, overseen by Forest Aymeric, into a strategy run by Nordea managers Asbjørn Trolle Hansen, head of Multi Assets team, Claus Vorm, deputy head of Multi Assets team, and Kurt Kongsted, head of Strategic Asset Allocation.
The change was confirmed in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (https://sec.report/Document/0001133228-19-003960/ )
John Hancock uses some 79 portfolio teams across 27 provider firms to support its multi-manager approach.
As a unit of the Canada based Manulife Financial Corporation, John Hancock's US operations include some $483bn in assets under management and administration.
