Creechurch Capital, the Douglas-based boutique discretionary fund management firm, has appointed Jim Dolan as managing director.
Dolan, Chartered FCSI and a Chartered Wealth Manager, joined Creechurch in March as director and investment manager following the acquisition of the business by the Nayyar Group. Since then Creechurch has seen a number of positive changes which have included securing key appointments in order to strengthen the existing team.
Canada Life Investments has strengthened its equities team with two new hires as Stuart Taylor joins as senior portfolio manager and fund manager of the LF Canlife UK Equity Income fund and David White joins as senior research and strategy manager.
Both Taylor and White join Canada Life Investments' equities team with a cumulative 36 years' of experience between them. Taylor previously worked at RWC Partners on the RWC UK Focus fund and prior to that worked as an equities analyst at Insight Investments. White has joined Canada Life Investments in the newly created role of senior research and strategy manager on the firm's equity desk with 24 years working in global equity markets. Most recently, White worked at Mirabaud Securities as head of strategy.
Investec's Corporate and Investment Banking business hopes to build on recent corporate successes in the investment companies area after the hiring of Canaccord Genuity's 14-strong team, led by David Yovichic.
Investec advised on November's initial public offering of Terry Smith's new venture, the Smithson Investment Trust, which, at £822.5m, was the largest ever trust launch. Glenhawk, the fast UK challenger lender, has named Caroline Ong as non-executive director.With over 20 years of commercial and residential real estate experience as a board advisor, committee member and executive director, she will provide strategic operational and governance counsel to the Glenhawk leadership team as it targets further loan book growth, additional funding sources and new product launches.
Ong joins from UK specialist mortgage lender Octane, where she was involved in its launch in 2016, including overseeing the risk framework to ensure it was appropriate for an early stage business, and providing guidance on business direction and growth.
Nikko Asset Management has announced the appointment of Rob Mann as the head of Asia ex-Japan Equity, based out of Singapore. He has been with Nikko AM in the capacity of senior portfolio manager and macro specialist since 2013, joining from Treasury Asia Asset Management (TAAM), an Asian equity boutique acquired by Nikko AM.
Prior to TAAM, he worked with Credit Suisse Asset Management in various roles including CIO Asia Pacific and Deputy CEO Australia, between 1985 and 2008. In 2007, he was made head of Investments Asia Pacific, overseeing teams in Singapore, Australia and Tokyo.
Tilney has continued to expand its presence in Scotland, with a move to a new office in the capital city to accommodate its growing team and with the hire of Ronnie Binnie from Standard Life Aberdeen as managing partner for Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
Binnie brings with him a significant amount of business development and senior management experience, having spent the last 27 years of his career at Standard Life Aberdeen. He was latterly as head of Business Development at Aberdeen Standard Capital, the group's discretionary management division. His career has spanned financial planning, investment management and business development in both the direct and intermediated spaces.
Linklaters has revealed that Roberto Egori will be joining the Italy office as partner and practice head for Tax. Egori will lead the Italian tax team of Linklaters and will focus on advising clients on domestic and cross-border structured finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance deals, capital market transactions, private equity, real estate as well as pure tax-led mandates.
He joins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer where he was partner in the Milan tax practice.
Willis Towers Watson
Willis Towers Watson has announced that Luba Nikulina will take on a new leadership role as head of research, effective as of 1st July.
In her expanded role, Nikulina will oversee Willis Towers Watson's key internal investment research teams: manager research; operational due diligence (ODD); and asset research. At the same time, Chris Redmond will be taking over from Nikulina as head of manager research.

Prior to joining PGIM as managing director in 2016, Lochhead held senior roles at Russell Investments, managing relationships with some of its most important institutional clients, and was a partner at Guggenheim Partners in New York. Lochhead also brings extensive experience building and leading client teams in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia at ISI Emerging Markets and Thomson Financial, where he opened the London office in 1987. He will lead a global team with representatives in Chicago, London, Munich, Singapore and Sydney, with plans to expand into Shanghai later this year.
