BMO Global Asset Management has appointed Cristiana de Alessi as a portfolio manager in the global rates team with a focus on absolute return fixed income strategies.
In her role as a portfolio manager, de Alessi will be responsible for the investment decisions related to emerging market currencies, global macro-economic factors and interest rates. She will also be covering BMO GAM's absolute return fixed income strategies.
T. Rowe Price
T. Rowe Price has appointed Marcus Gibbon and Stephen McCall to its intermediary team. As the new UK head of discretionary sales for T. Rowe Price, Gibbon will be responsible for broadening the group's engagement with fund selectors and financial intermediaries.
Deutsche Bank WM
Deutsche Bank Wealth Management has hired Piers Harris and Roddy Boulton as Relationship Managers in the UK, continuing a buildout in the market that started with the appointment of Michael Morley as CEO of the UK business.
Harris has over 24 years' experience in the financial services industry and joins from Credit Suisse UK where he was a senior relationship manager in the UHNW team since 2013. Boulton has extensive experience as a trusted client adviser and business leader, most recently as a senior relationship manager in the UHNW team at Credit Suisse UK. Both Harris and Boulton will be managing directors, based in London, reporting to Raffaello Nemni, head of Coverage and Client Acquisition, Wealth Management UK.
Wells Fargo & Co. has named Nico Marais chief executive officer and head of Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM).
Marais most recently was co-CEO of WFAM and previously was WFAM president and head of Multi-Asset Solutions. He replaces Kristi Mitchem, who left WFAM in January. He joined WFAM in February 2017 from Schroders, where he was head of Multi-Asset Investments and Portfolio Solutions. Prior to Schroders, Marais was global head of Active Portfolio Management for BlackRock's Multi-Asset and Client Solutions team.
Carey Olsen, the offshore law firm, has appointed Andrea Steel as counsel in its corporate and investment funds practice.
Steel is rejoining the firm after spending the past 13 years heading up the in-house legal teams at two of Europe's leading fund administration companies. During her time in-house, she gained expertise in a wide range of fund structuring, formation, administration and regulatory matters, with particular knowledge of private equity and real estate funds. Practising Jersey law from Carey Olsen's London office, her appointment further strengthens the firm's Jersey funds offering.
Neuberger Berman, a private, independent, employee-owned investment manager, announced it has appointed Jose Cosio to lead intermediary client coverage across EMEA and LatAm.
Cosio joins from Alliance Bernstein, where he spent nine years in various senior business development roles, including most recently as managing director of global intermediaries for the UK, MENA and southern Europe. He brings 18 years' experience working in financial services. He reports to Dik van Lomwel, who heads the region.
Refinitiv has appointed William Leahey as head of Regulatory Compliance, Wealth Management. In this role Leahey will lead all regulatory activities for the wealth management business with a focus on identifying key regulatory developments, risks, and initiatives for customers. This will include advocacy related to proposed rules, guidance around and implementation of approved rules, and regulatory issues management.
Prior to joining Refinitiv, Leahey was vice president and assistant general counsel of the Operations and Technology Group at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).
