French boutique Amiral Gestion is expanding its team with the appointment of Mario Santos as a small and mid-caps analyst.
Santos, who will be joining the firm's team in Paris, will be responsible for helping the company in the search for opportunities for its Sextant fund range.
The firm's Sextant fund range comprises six funds designed to provide investors with long-term performances and limited risk.
With five years' experience in the banking and insurance sectors, Santos joins the value investing boutique from Crystal Amber in London. Previous roles include financial risk consultant at Deloitte, analyst at Mapfre, and consultant at Management Solution, where he started his career.
Amiral Gestion, founded in France in 2003, has some 45 member staff, of which 28 work as part of the asset management team based in Paris. Although the company has its headquartered in the French capital, it also has offices in Madrid - for commercial representation -and in Singapore, where the research activity takes place.
The boutique, which is fully owned by managers and other employees, is aimed half at retail clients and half at wholesale and institutional clients.
As of the end of February of 2019, it posted some €4bn in assets under management - on behalf of European investors -, of which around €3.1bn belong to its Sextant fund range, €550m to institutional mandates, and the remaining €350m to wealth management.
