Fund Channel names chief of Italian unit

The European fund distribution platform Fund Channel has appointed Luca Lombardi to lead its unit in Milan, which was recently launched in a move aimed at strengthening the firm´s business plans in Italy.

Lombardi, with around 13 years´experience in the asset servicing industry, will report to Pierre-Adrien Domon, responsible for the firm´s business development.

Founded in 2005, Fund Channel offers investment fund distribution services to both institutional distributors and asset managers on a B2B basis in more than a dozen countries. With around 68 employees, 100 distributors and 500 asset managers available on its platform, Fund Channel has reached € 175bn of assets under administration as of December 2018.

Based in Luxembourg and regulated by the CSSF, the firm has a subsidiary in Switzerland, regulated by FINMA, and a branch in Singapore, which was set up in 2017. 

Since 2009, the fund distribution platform is a joint venture owned by Amundi Group (50.04%) and BNP Paribas Investment Partners (49.96%).
