BF.capital GmbH, a subsidiary of BF.direkt AG and investment company for institutional investors in real estate debt, is planning to launch a new debt fund.
The fund is set to invest in both project developments and existing properties, thereby enabling it to participate in active value added (e.g. partitioning properties).
It will focus on metropolitan centres in German-speaking countries, first and foremost in Germany. The investment universe comprises senior debt instruments in addition to purely junior debt or mezzanine tranches. The target volume of the fund is at least €200m. The vehicle will be set up under Luxembourg law and optimised for the interests of tax-paying and tax-exempt institutional investors.
To move ahead with the issue and placement of funds, BF.capital is appointing Jan von Graffen to its team as a managing director from 1 July 2019.
Before joining BF.capital, von Graffen was the Head of Annuities/Cash at the Alte Leipziger - Hallesche Group, where he was responsible for assets under management of €30bn. He was also deeply involved in the strategic and tactical orientation of the portfolio. He has likewise worked for Continentale Versicherungsverbund and Süddeutsche Krankenversicherung a.G., where he spent more than eleven years, predominantly in management positions.
