Italian Sella Group sets up venture capital boutique

Italian financial group Gruppo Sella is expanding its asset management capabilities with the launch of a venture capital hub.
Sella Venture Partners SGR, already authorised by the Bank of Italy to start operating as an asset management firm, has been set up with the aim of becoming a leading company in the venture capital investment universe.
The first strategy of the new asset manager will be a venture capital fund of funds investing in international markets, which aims at offering private and institutional investors the possibility to invest in venture capital funds with a high potential for return typically arising from technological markets.
The fund targets primarily institutional and private banking investors looking for diversification and who are particularly interested in alternative investments.
Pietro Sella, the Group's CEO, will be the president of the new investment outfit, while Grazia Borri and Luca Mannucci are joining the alternative boutique as managing director and head of investments, respectively.
