To be held on the 30 and 31 of May at the Sofia Hotel in Barcelona, the summit will be hosting an audience of around 40 fund selectors from Spain, Portugal and Andorra to a wide range of topics and trends that are currently relevant for the industry.

Keynote speaker Javier Santiso, founder and CEO of the European venture capital fund Mundi Ventures, will address venture capital as "an emerging market asset class," which is becoming a major trend of investment globally, with around $100bn invested in the US in 2018, a similar amount in China, and an increasing prospect of growth in Europe.

Before founding Mundi Ventures, Santiso was Europe's CEO of Khazanah, a $50bn sovereign wealth fund from out East Asia, headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, as well as global head of Tech Investments. He has also been chief economist at BBVA and at the OECD Development Centre. He founded Amerigo, the €400m venture capital fund of funds of Telefónica.
In addition to the boardroom sessions and the keynote speaker conference, the event includes a second plenary session on ESG and gender equality, a panel discussion on alternatives, and some more group activities aimed at fostering networking.
Credit Suisse Spain's Íñigo Iturriaga will be moderating the panel discussion, in which Inversis Gestión' senior analyst Alejandro Allona, Fernando Sánchez Santidrián, head of alternative investments at Caixabank AM, and Guilherme Onofre, head of fund selection at the Portuguese bank Caixagest, will be discussing on alternatives in a time in which investors' willingness to consider alternative assets has gained impetus by the era of ultra-low interest rates.
