Muzinich makes long/short European credit strategy available to Spanish investors

Muzinich & Co is bringing to Spain its European Credit Alpha strategy that belongs to the firm's absolute return funds range, which seeks to generate positive returns in any market conditions.

Muzinich European Credit Alpha fund, from now on available to investors in Spain, is along/short, total-return credit strategy that mostly invests across European credit markets in strong conviction trades.

"We believe a dynamic strategy that combines long and short positions across a broad investment universe offers the potential for significant alpha generation. The strategy uses a diverse range of instruments including cash instruments (bullet or callable bonds), floating and fixed- rate instruments, senior, subordinated and hybrid debt, loans and derivatives," the company says.

The Fund aims at taking advantage from the upsides of European corporate credit markets while minimising the risk by identifying positions that help protect investment in market correction events.

Muzinich set up its Madrid unit in March 2015. Led by Rafael Ximénez de Embún, the office counts of a team of seven people, and managed over €2.4bn in assets as of the end of December.
