The Spanish delegation of the European Financial Planning Association (EFPA)has partnered with Mexico's brokerage association AMIB for the mutual recognition of some of the qualifications they certify to financial advisers in both countries.
Through the agreement, the AMIB will grant its Certification of Securities Promoter (Series 200) or of Adviser in Investment Strategies (Series 210) to all financial advisers that count on EFPA's certifications of European Financial Advisor (EFA) or European Investment Practitioner (EIP) in Spain.
To achieve this validation, certified members from the Spanish association must take and accredit the ethics course taught by AMIB while pass a modular examination of the Mexican securities market, which includes subjects related to ethics, sound practices and regulations.
Similarly, EFPA Spain will grant its European Investment Practitioner (EIP) certification to all Mexican professionals who have the Promoter of Securities or Adviser in Investment Strategies' certifications once they pass a training course of Spanish Legal Framework and Taxes, or after they formally agree to complete the 30-hour continuous training in these subjects during the first year of validation of such certification.
"This agreement is a very important mutual recognition for the certifications of both organisations and a step further to the globalisation of EFPA, which will facilitate that all our certified members can exercise their professional work in Mexico, a very attractive market for Spanish financial advisers ", says Josep Soler, EFPA Europe's adviser and executive delegate of EFPA Spain.
