Mark Nichols has been appointed fund manager and member of Jupiter's European Growth team.
He joins from Columbia Threadneedle, where he has been co-manager of the €4.6bn European Select strategy.
Jupiter said the appointment is part of an ongoing development of its European equities capabil;ities, and part of is succession planning for a team overseeing some €11bn of assets.
Nichols will become lead manager for the €6.2bn Jupiter European fund and the €2.8bn Jupiter European Growth Sicav. Current manager of these two funds, Alexander Darwall, will turn his attention to managing the Jupiter European Opportunities Trust plc and segregated institutional mandates.
Nichols has some 18 years' experience of European equities, having started in 2001 on the European Equities team at Invesco. Befgore his stint with Columbia Threadneedle, he was lead manager of the Eruopean Growth & Income franchise at F&C, now BMO.
