Comgest has strengthened its Global Equity team with the appointment of two analyst/portfolio managers: Alexandre Narboni and Richard Mercado.
Narboni, having already worked for over a decade with Comgest, has transferred from the Group's US Equity team where he was one of the key decision-makers. Mercado joins from USS Investment Management (London) and brings with him over 18 years of investment experience specialising in US and Global Equities. The Group has also hired Louis Citroën as an analyst to reinforce the US Equity team following Alexandre's transfer.
The Global Equity team at Comgest is responsible for €3.2bn ($3.7bn) of AUM and the strategy carries a long track record dating back to 1991. The bolstering of the team coincides with the anticipated departure on 31 March of analyst/portfolio manager Céline Piquemal-Prade, who will now be focusing on personal priorities after 15 years with the firm. Over the past year, Piquemal-Prade has progressively transitioned her portfolio management responsibilities.
Alexandre Narboni joined Comgest in 2009, initially within the firm's US equity team before moving to the Global Equity team in 2018 where he is today an analyst and portfolio manager. Narboni is also responsible for developing and supervising Comgest's Flex strategies, the firm's first investment strategies to employ hedging techniques with the objective of reducing volatility and drawdowns. Before joining Comgest, he worked in New York, firstly in asset-backed securities at Société Générale from 2005 to 2007 and then as a hedge fund credit analyst at HSBC.
Richard Mercado joined Comgest in 2019 and is an analyst and portfolio manager in the Global Equity team. Before joining Comgest, Mercado worked in London as a portfolio manager responsible for a North American equities fund with USS Investment Management and prior to that, as a Global Equities portfolio manager with F&C Investments. From 2001-2008 he worked in Australia, with Capital Partners as an investment analyst and with AMP Capital Investors as an investment strategist.
Louis Citroën joined Comgest in 2019 and is an analyst in the US Equity team. After starting his career in 2009 as a management consultant at Oliver Wyman in Paris, he worked from 2011 as a small cap equity analyst at Financière de l'Echiquier. He then moved to London in 2013 where he was an equity analyst covering telecoms and media stocks at Arete Research for five years.
