RLAM
Royal London Asset Management has strengthened its wholesale team with the appointment of Phil Davey as relationship manager for London discretionary sales. Davey will be responsible for focusing on the London discretionary market, and will work closely with existing relationships while developing new ones.

He joins from JPMorgan Asset Management, where he was a relationship manager for its London and Channel Islands markets. Prior to that, he worked at Threadneedle Investments for three years, following two years in the London discretionary team at Amundi Asset Management.

AXA IM
AXA IM has named Laurent Clavel as its head of research, a promotion from his role as head of macroeconomic research. Based in Paris, he will report to Gilles Moëc, who will become the chief economist for the AXA Group on 3 June.

In a new role for the organisation, Clavel will lead the research team of credit analysts and macroeconomists, whose aim it is to provide fundamental research to drive investment insights and thought leadership.

UBS
UBS has appointed a new head of telecommunications, media and technology in investment banking for the Asia Pacific. Patrick Tsang has been named as the head of telecommunications, media and technology investment, replacing Randy Gelber who is leaving to pursue other opportunities

Tsang, a Hong Kong-based managing director for the financial group, has been with UBS since 2004, according to his LinkedIn profile. 

The Fry Group
The Fry Group has appointed Anna Warren as Head of Tax Asia, based in Hong Kong. She joins from KPMG and will be starting in April.

Warren began her training at KPMG in the Channel Islands, working in the audit practice for three years prior to joining their private client tax department. She transferred to London in 2012 to specialise in providing UK tax planning advice to HNWIs. She is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) and a Chartered Accountant (ACA).

Ogier
Ogier has announced that Advocate Eloise Layzell has joined its growing Jersey Dispute Resolution team as a senior associate. Layzell specialises in contentious regulatory matters, having previously advised the Jersey Financial Services Commission on a long-running case.

She is the eighth Jersey Advocate to join the disputes team, which is led by Partners Nick Williams, Edward Mackereth and Oliver Passmore.

Franklin Templeton
Franklin Templeton, the $714bn California-based asset manager, has hired Nicole Vettise as an institutional portfolio manager in its emerging markets equity team. Vettise previously worked for BlackRock.

Schroders 
Schroders has promoted Robin McDonald to head of multi-manager investments following the appointment of Marcus Brookes to chief investment officer of the new tie-up between Schroders and Lloyds, Schroders Personal Wealth.

Brookes, currently head of multi-manager investments at Schroders, will assume the role of CIO at Schroders Personal Wealth in May.
