Barcelona-based GVC Gaesco has named Enrique García Palacio as its new chief executive officer.
García Palacio joins GVC Gaesco from Ahorro Corporación where he was Catalonia regional director for the past 29 years. From this position, he promoted various businesses including asset management, private banking, distribution and capital markets, and investment services platforms.
Ahorro Corporación is a financial services company that provides brokerage and financial advisory services to institutional and private investors in Spain.
Maria Àngels Vallvé, chairman of the board of directors of GVC Gaesco, said: " With this appointment, GVC Gaesco bets on a new leadership, which will follow a management model in line with the group's legacy while it will focus on the development of new strategies that enable the firm to adapt and anticipate to the market."
GVC Gaesco has around €5bn in assets under management and administration. The firm has announced its plans to open an office in Miami aimed at bolstering its global growth.
