Muzinich & Co hires director of responsible investing in ESG push

Muzinich & Co is bolstering its commitments to sustainability with the appointment of Archie Beeching as director of Responsible Investing.

In this newly-created role, Beeching will focus on strengthening the ongoing integration of the firm's environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies into the investment process, liaising with investors and companies and broadening the firm's ESG-based initiatives across public and private debt markets.

Beeching joins from the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment where he spent seven years, initially leading on fixed income and latterly as head of Private Markets. His responsibilities included clarifying financial implications of sustainability risks and opportunities and promoting best practice.

"I am excited to be joining Muzinich to focus on such a key area of the business. Sustainability and responsible investing have become important considerations for investors on a global basis, and I am looking forward to working with Muzinich's investment teams and clients on further developing the firm's ESG strategies," said Archie Beeching.

Tatjana Greil-Castro, Muzinich's portfolio manager added:"Archie's expertise and tenure in the market significantly enhances our ESG capabilities. Muzinich was an early adopter in incorporating ESG criteria into client portfolios. Archie's appointment marks a further significant step in our commitment to providing ESG-based solutions for our clients, as well as engaging with corporate issuers and other stakeholders on ESG considerations."
