BEKB announces changes to board

BEKB announces changes to board

On 28 February 2019, the Board of Directors of Berner Kantonalbank AG (BEKB) approved its proposals to the Annual General Meeting on 14 May 2019.

The board is proposing the distribution of a dividend of CHF 8.00 per share (previous year: CHF 6.60). On the share capital of CHF186.4m BEKB will distribute around CHF75m to the shareholders.

Peter Siegenthaler leaves the Board of Directors due to the term limitation. Eva Jaisli and Jürg Rebsamen will no longer available for a new election. As a new member, the Board of Directors proposes to the General Assembly Gilles Frôté, Annelis Lüscher Hämmerli and Pascal Sieber for election.

Gilles Frôté is managing partner of Frôté & Partner AG and Chairman of Rollomatic SA. He is committed to industrial SMEs in the canton of Bern and especially in the Bernese Jura region. He holds various directorship mandates in SMEs and is Chairman of Strausak AG. He is also a board member of the Chamber of Commerce (CEP) of the Bernese Jura.

Annelis Lüscher Hämmerli is a proven financial expert with a broad expertise in risk management. Since 2004, she has held various management positions at Swiss Life Asset Managers in Zurich, and since 2016 as chief risk officer.

Pascal Sieber is the founder and co-owner of Pascal Sieber & Partners AG. In 2000 he founded the Pascal Sieber & Partners AG in Bern, which specialises in business consulting and information and communication technology (ICT). 

The following members of the Board of Directors are proposed for re-election for one year: Antoinette Hunziker-Ebneter (President), Daniel Bloch, Prof. Christoph Lengwiler, dr. Rudolf Stämpfli and Peter Wittwer. Antoinette Hunziker-Ebneter, Daniel Bloch and Peter Wittwer are eligible for election to the Compensation Committee.
