Carmignac has named Fabio Zoccoletti responsible for Italy in a move aimed at strengthening the company's business in the transalpine country.
Zoccoletti succeeds Giorgio Ventura, Carmignac's global head of sales since April 2018.
The new Italy responsible for Carmignac brings a vast experience working in the Italian banking sector, having focused on wealth management. Prior to joining the French firm, he worked at various Italian banks including Monte dei Paschi di Siena, where he served for eight years; Banca Popolare di Vicenza, where he was head of wealth management products; and Intesa Sanpaolo where he was head of advisory and investment products for the Group's division Subsidiary Banks.
He started his career in 1995, working for the retail and finance division of Banca del Salento.
Giorgio Ventura, global head of sales of Carmignac, said: "Zoccoletti's wide experience in wealth management and advisory makes him the ideal candidate to lead Carmignac's business development in Italy, a market he knows deeply."
